Russian military inspectors to fly over US as part of Open Skies pact ...

It entered into force more than a decade ago and currently has 34 member states.

The aim of the treaty is to promote openness and transparency of military forces, boost mutual understanding and confidence by giving all signatories, regardless of their size, a direct role in gathering information about each other?s military activities through unarmed areal observations, and enhance opportunities for conflict prevention.
